BOYS TO MEN

Friday's "Man Trip" started with breakfast and a trip to Dad's office.

Chase's favorite part was the spinning chair. He has no concept of the years of hard work it takes to get an "Executive" chair. When you think about that, it highlights the craziness of the corporate world. AfterI read the book Three Big Questions for a Frantic Family, Larry & I discussed our personal and family priorities. Both money and material things (while nice and enjoyable - I love a good name brand purse) were so low on both our lists, we surprised each other. I am so glad we agree that our true treasures are in Heaven!!!

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." (Matthew 6:19-21, NIV)

Anyway, this was a fun time for both Larry and Chase and I am convinced that there are some things that are just easier for a Man to teach a Boy, so I pray for this relationship daily and I am looking forward to Bryce joining the fun.
