THE ECONOMIC CRY-SIS

Admittedly, the recent developments in our economy, have left me wondering whether the bad guys will just get rich and walk away, despite their bad decisions, bad intentions and massive profits; Wondering about those of us who are always careful to do the right thing, those of us who wouldn't so much as dream of being this reckless and dishonest? Do we get left holding the bag - the worthless, empty rescue bag?

It's a crying shame. I have engaged in countless discussions with friends and family, but ultimately, I went where I knew there was an answer for our current state of confusion - God's Word - where every life circumstance and condition is addressed. I started with a familiar scripture (Galatians 6:7), that I learned in Vacation Bible School as a teenager and have never forgotten.

God's word is clear that there are consequences for our actions. No person on this earth - as HE is not mocked - will fail to reap what they have sown. I found it comforting to read the words that God gives on how we should react in distressing times and his promise of what His children will receive. We are not to become discouraged but rather, reassured in our reward of everlasting life! Now, that's ahhh'right with me - smile :)

"For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" Mark 8:36

"Be not deceived for God is not mocked. Whatsover a man soweth, that shall he reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit, shall reap life everlasting. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart." Galatians 6:7-9
